ST. ROSE HOPES FAST FINISH LEADS TO QUICK START.(SPORTS)

The College of Saint Rose women's basketball team takes to the court this season with a wealth of experience after a very successful 1992-93 campaign.

After getting off to a slow start by losing nine of their first 10 games, the Golden Knights turned things around, winning 13 of their final 15 contests before falling by a mere three points to eventual champion Philadelphia Textile in the semifinals of the New York Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament.

With eight returning players including all five starters, St. Rose looks to pick up where it left off the second half of last season. Along with the returnees are three very promising freshmen.

Leading the way for the Golden Knights will be senior co-captain Siobhan Flanagan. The 6-foot-1 center garnered NYCAC Honorable Mention and was the team's third-leading scorer despite missing eight games because of an injury.

Flanagan should post big numbers this season while defenses are scrambling …
