SA: Baktiari children should be released from detention: SA govt

The South Australian government says two boys who sparked a political storm by seekingBritish asylum should be released into the community to avoid further harm.

A report released by the state government says ALAMDAR and MONTAZAR BAKTIARI, aged13 and 12, have developed antisocial behaviour to cope with conditions in the Woomeradetention centre.

The report says the family should be released into the community to prevent furtheremotional and social harm being done to the children, especially the boys.

The report was released as the family met with the father, ALI BAKTIARI today at theWoomera centre.

The report also says if they need to remain in detention, they should be transferredto the Villawood centre at Sydney, the city where the father lives.
